"Thank You for Trying"

You try so hard to understand me.
To understand who I am, and
Why I do the things I do.
but no matter how hard you try-
      You Cannot.

You cannot possibly understand
without being me in living my life.
Sometimes you come amazingly close.
While many other times,
       You are so far away.

"You should be better by now..."
"You're so much better when you're working..."
"You need to..." "You have to..."
"I don't want to be involved..."
"I understand you completely..."

I know you try hard to understand-
and so often you believe you do.
But quite often the truth is...
    You are on the otherside of the earth!
